At some point of the breed’s evolution, it was crossed with many hunting breeds, such as Irish Setter, Bloodhounds, and Labradors that resulted in appearance of the blonde or light-gold dogs.

Fastidious housekeepers are not recommended to own pets of this breed, because they shed much and lose most of their coat twice a year.
