Golden Retriever Association
A golden retriever association will provide information about it's members, such as kennels and breeders.
The worst possible choice is obtaining a pet from a pet shore or dealer. Such puppies are poorly bred and raised. Little has been put into the care of pet shop dogs; they are sold only for profit. Pet stores buy the animals from irresponsible breeders and rely on impulsive buyers who know nothing on the breed and are attracted by the image of the breed seen on the TV. Most dogs from pet stores are sickly; they are not socialized and will not make reliable pets. You don’t save money by buying a puppy from a pet store, because you have to spend much on the vet afterwards.

Golden Retriever Association -
kennels, breeders
As this dog breed is very popular in the USA and abroad, there exist many clubs and organizations that unite the breed fanciers, breeders, trainers and owners. Such clubs promote the development and enjoyment of the breed and strive to improve its characteristics. In such clubs, you can find help and advice on dog care and keeping. These organizations also provide training classes for the dog and all reputable breeders should be registered there. Many clubs also help homeless purebred dogs find new families.
