Low Country Golden Retriever Rescue
Low Country Golden Retriever Rescue aids owners in training and helps breeders produce high quality puppies.
Abandoned dogs in volunteer organizations receive thorough vet care (immunizations, spaying or neutering, checking for various disorders typical of the breed) and are kept in foster families prior to adoption. Foster owners rehabilitate the dogs and give them basic socialization. All prospective adopters should be screened carefully and prove their ability to provide all necessary care and training for the dog. Adopters should have dog ownership experience. Families with small children are refused adopting a dog, but older children are recommended to have a senior dog as the first pet.

Low Country Golden Retriever Rescue -
training, breeders
The hallmark of the breed is its lustrous dense coat. It’s waterproof and designed specially for swimming in cold water when looking for the downed fowl. Nowadays, working abilities of these dogs are rarely taken into consideration and not all owners of these dogs know that their temperament and conformation were first designed for hunting. In show quality dogs, appearance plays the most important role. In America, brighter colors are preferred, while the British standard of perfection sticks to softer colors. Lighter colors are preferred by breeders of northern countries. These dogs come in a variety of colors, but they cannot be pure white, black or red.
