All responsible breeders and owners of purebred dogs are the members of breed clubs. Members are urged to accept the breed standard and try hard to improve the breed by training their dogs, planning litters and educating the public about the responsible dog ownership. Club members are required to maintain good sportsmanship at all events and competitions for the breed. Responsibilities of a breeder are the most numerous. Breeders have to maintain the purpose of the breed and demonstrate honesty and fairness in dealing with other owners and breeders, purchasers of dogs and the general public.

Long Island Golden Retriever -
puppy, breeders
The origin of this breed is clear from records made by Lord Tweedmouth during the breeding process. The main aim of the breed was to assist hunters and find and retrieve the game both on land and water. Such dogs are able to swim in cold water. This breed has a very keen sense of smell and is very active and energetic. These dogs have strong working instincts and make excellent family pets, show dogs and guides for the blind. The breed is characterized as friendly, loyal, intelligent and trustworthy. Long Island golden retriever rescue cares for any puppy in need and educates breeders and owners.
